The Sims 4 base game is free to play, but that does not give you every expansion or DLC for free. Get the base game through an official store, then check each add-on’s price, platform and account requirements separately.
What is free, and what needs a separate offer?

Download the free base game
EA’s installation guide says the base game became free to play on October 18, 2022. Its official download page links to the supported storefronts.
- Choose the store for your platform and check its requirements.
- Sign in to the account where you want the game.
- Select the base game, not a paid bundle with a similar title.
- Check the final price and follow the store’s install steps.
- Keep track of any linked EA account so later packs appear in the right library.
Do not assume a Windows listing also supplies a Mac version, or that buying a console pack grants its PC version. Check the platform shown on the specific product page.
Can you download all Sims 4 DLC for free?
A free-base-game announcement is not an all-DLC offer. The official add-on catalogue lists packs separately. Prices and promotions change, so the earlier article’s total DLC cost and old euro prices are not a useful current buying guide.
Check official sales, bundles and named giveaways. A giveaway normally covers the stated products and claim period, not every future pack. Avoid shared-account or “DLC unlocker” downloads that promise ownership the store has not granted.
What about the Holiday Celebration Pack?
The correct name is Holiday Celebration Pack, not a new all-DLC bundle. Its Epic listing describes holiday clothes and decorations and requires the base game and updates.
At this review, that public listing showed Unavailable. Check the live store state for your account and platform rather than assuming a search title saying “free” means you can claim it there today. The earlier June 2020 release claim was also wrong; the listing records December 16, 2014.
If a pack you own is missing
Check the store account, linked EA account and exact pack name. Use the launcher’s supported add-on management or repair options. Keep the order or claim record for EA support; do not buy again before checking whether you already own the right platform version.
