The first quarter of 2022 is already history. During these first months of the year we have seen an incredible rate of releases. Some of the most anticipated games of the year such as Horizon Forbidden West or Elden Ring were released almost at the end of February. Gran Turismo 7 was finally launched in March, although it was not without controversy, as has become usual in the saga. And finally, Ghostwire: Tokyo launched in the last week of March, capping off a terrific quarter that saw tons more high-quality video games come out, especially for Sony consoles. And now, the question may arise. Is there anything left for the rest of the year or is all the fish sold on PlayStation 5 for the rest of the year?
What important games are left to come out on PS5 in the remainder of the year?
Almost all the big releases that were scheduled for PlayStation 5 have already been released in this first part of the year. The stock of the console also seems to be returning to normal, so it is possible that Sony will start to leave aside the PlayStation 4 from now on. However, there are still video games for a while. Not all of them are exclusive to Sony’s next-gen , but they are really expected. They are the following:

Probably the big release we have yet to see. This title comes from Square Enix , and it is their big bet for this 2022. It is an action RPG title in which we will live the story of Frey Holland, a girl who has been trapped in the magical world of Athia and has to do everything possible to return to New York. To do this, he will have to use his powers to survive the incredible open world that awaits him.
According to Takeshi Aramaki, its director, the game will be an adventure guided through the narrative of the story, although we will be able to explore Athia with total freedom.
This was initially scheduled for May, but has been pushed back to October 11, 2022 . It will only be released for PlayStation 5 and PC.
Gotham Knights
We will also have to wait until the same to play the new action RPG from DC Comics. On October 25, 2022 , Gothan Knights will arrive , a game developed by WB Games Montréal that promises a lot. The game will show us a Gotham in which Batman is no longer and is in constant decline . We can play cooperatively to complete the missions of the game.
Hogwarts Legacy
It will not be exclusive to PS5, but Sony already showed us enough of this highly anticipated title a few weeks ago in its State of Play. This is another open world RPG based on the Harry Potter universe . The game will be set in the second half of the 19th century, and we will study at Hogwarts as one more student, in our corresponding house and being able to investigate all the secrets that the lore of this fantastic saga brings. In Sony’s State of Play you could see many of the mechanics that the video game will have, and we anticipate that there are many. The game does not yet have a definite date.
God of War: Ragnarok
Apparently, this sequel to God of War will arrive on September 30 , according to an internal Sony leak, after it has been delayed several times.
The game will maintain the same style and gameplay as the PS4 edition. Kratos will once again be accompanied by Atreus and they will reconnect with new attacks and even wilder combos.
