3 Great Novelties of WhatsApp Will Arrive with Several Problems

WhatsApp is not characterized by being the application that incorporates the most news or one of the most innovative. In fact, the lack of evolution and the slow arrival of new functions to WhatsApp ends up despairing of many users who see the competition innovating much faster. In this second half of the year, three great novelties will arrive, such as multi-device support, photos that disappear and the possibility of moving chats from iOS to Android (and vice versa). However, all three features will come with some issues that are worth knowing beforehand.

Multi-device support

The multi-device mode of WhatsApp is one of the most anticipated functions. We have been waiting for years to be able to use the application on various mobiles, computers or tablets without having to resort to a monster like WhatsApp Web. This feature is very close to landing in the beta for iOS and Android , and we will be able to test it soon.

The big problem is that, unlike its rivals, WhatsApp will not allow you to use it on two mobiles at the same time and will only allow up to four devices at the same time for the same account (plus the smartphone). This may seem like enough, but the truth is that we should have more freedom in this regard.

Photos that disappear

Another novelty that has been rumored for a long time is already a reality for some users who have the beta installed. The messages that self – destruct , now known as the pictures disappear, allows us to send content that the receiver can only see for a few seconds.

Some media are talking that this new function will serve to share secret or private photos, but the reality is that screenshots will not be blocked by default or a notification will not be sent to the user about it. This is a serious security issue as a simple screenshot will make something that was intended to be temporary final.

Possibility to go from iOS to Android (and vice versa) the chats

The last function to arrive is another of the highly anticipated ones that will allow us to migrate conversations between iOS and Android. When we changed mobile, there was no problem restoring conversations as long as we had a backup and continued using the same operating system. However, if we had an Android and we bought an iPhone, or the reverse process, we would run out of conversations and we had to “start from scratch” .

The big problem, as we see in the video above, is that we would need to be connected with cable since the process would not be done wirelessly or in the cloud. The message “Do not disconnect the cable” makes us think that this accessory will be needed to be able to migrate the conversations. Will it be a specific cable released by WhatsApp? Will the computer be used as a bridge with some kind of application? Many doubts to solve.
