It is the most expensive product from Xiaomi, but its price is still groundbreaking. The brand has just presented in China its first Smart TV with OLED technology, a fantastic OLED model of no less than 65 inches that becomes the manufacturer’s first option to offer an organic LED panel.
What does the Xiaomi OLED offer?
Taking into account its large dimensions, you just have to take a quick look around its exterior to verify that we are facing a somewhat special television. Its minimum thickness surprises in the highest part of the panel, although from the middle we already see a much more pronounced thickness in which the internal circuitry is hidden. It is a design very similar to others that we have been able to see in LG and Sony models, references that we will continue to find in other details.
We are facing a panel with 4K resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 pixels. It has a viewing angle of 178 degrees and covers the DCI-P3 profile by 98.5%. One of the most outstanding features is its 120 Hz refresh rate, a refresh rate that will also be offered in a variable way from 40 to 120 Hz, and that will reach its maximum value only through HDMI 3 port.
Speaking of connections, we have a total of 3 HDMI ports (one for 120 Hz and one with eARC), two USB ports, ethernet, AV input via mini-jack, optical output and terrestrial antenna connection.
- 65-inch 4K panel with 120Hz and 98.5% DCI-P3 profile coverage.
- Quad-core Mediatek Cortex A73 processor
- Mali-G52 MC1 GPU
- 3GB of RAM
- 32 GB of storage
- Wifi and Bluetooth 5.0
- Remote control with NFC
- 6 speakers (left and right channel and surround) and 1 integrated subwoofer (with 2 passive radiators)
- Dolby Atmos
- Dynamic HDR
- 1 ms response time for game mode
- MIUI for TV operating system
Where is Android TV?
Being a specific launch for China, the operating system that mounts this model is based on MIUI. This Xiaomi proprietary operating system allows direct communication with many other manufacturer devices, in order to take control of some smart devices from the television itself. The TV models that arrived in Spain were characterized by offering Android TV as an operating system, so we imagine that, in the event that this OLED TV reaches other markets, it will do so with Google’s operating system.
The system has Xiaomi XiaoAI artificial intelligence , present in other devices such as smart speakers or the Mi Band 5 NFC bracelet itself, but, in addition, the TV uses artificial intelligence to calibrate the image according to the contents that appear on the screen. Once again this is a function that we can find in LG and Sony models, so it is quite striking to find such similar details.
Taking into account the peculiarities of this model, which are placed in a high range of great specifications, the price of this Xiaomi TV Master OLED will be higher than what we are used to finding in the brand’s catalog. Still, the price is really good, because with a label of 12,999 yuan (about 1,630 euros to change), it is quite difficult to find a 65-inch OLED at that price.
