The Xiaomi Mi 9 family is one of the most extensive in the entire Xiaomi portfolio. Beneath older siblings like the Mi 9 or Mi 9T Pro are other more modest devices like the Xiaomi Mi 9 SE . This terminal is in the hands of many users, and some of them are reporting problems with the touch screen. However, the problem can be solved if we follow some tips.
The Xiaomi Mi 9 SE has a 5.97-inch screen and FullHD + resolution. It has a screen ratio of 19.5: 9 and is protected with Gorilla Glass 5. However, some users live with phantom touches, slow response time and other problems related to the Xiaomi Mi 9’s touch screen.
Solving problems with the touch screen
Update your mobile
Both Xiaomi and some users who have this problem have proposed various solutions to this problem, which in many cases are working. The first and most logical before continuing is to check if we have any pending system updates. If so, we must update the mobile to see if the problem disappears. If there is any pending update, it will appear as a notification in the notification bar, but if not, we will have to go to Settings / System / Updates and manually check if we have any pending.
Diagnostic mode
We can also carry out a diagnostic test. In order to enter this menu, press the following combination on the telephone dialer: * # * # 6484 * # * . In this way we can carry out an automatic diagnosis of the mobile, or go straight to the point by selecting TouchPal and LCD, to detect possible failures on the screen. If no problem is detected, it may be due to a software problem.
Screen saver
It is not the first or last time that the screen saver has been a problem in this regard. Many users of the Mi 9 SE have solved the problems of the touch screen when changing or removing its protector. This is usually a common failure and in which few fall, and even more so when a third-party and low-quality product has been installed.
Safe Mode
Accessing Safe Mode can lead us to the problem. It is a way in which the installed applications are not loaded, so we can detect if any malicious software is causing the touch screen to work irregularly. To start in this mode we will have to turn off the mobile by pressing the power button, and mark “Safe Mode” as the starting method. When the terminal turns on, and if the touch works correctly, we will have to go slowly trying to uninstall apps until we find the conflict.
Install another keyboard
Some users indicate that the solution has been to install another keyboard, since the Google Gboard keyboard that integrates the One Vision by default, could have some compatibility problem in some devices. Hardware problem
Also, and without the user being aware of it on many occasions, a small tap on the screen can destabilize the LCD panel of our mobile. In this case, we can do little more than go to the Technical Service for help, since it could require the replacement of the damaged part.
