Without the keyboard of our mobile, almost none of the applications we use every day would make sense. Each user can have their favorite keyboard, but all have the most necessary options. One of the most used is voice dictation, which is activated when we touch the microphone icon. However, many Xiaomi users are unable to find this function on their keyboards.
Xiaomi users with MIUI can count on Google’s Gboard or any other keyboard, since in the app market there are many and very popular like Swiftkey. However, many run into the problem of not being able to find the microphone that enables voice dictation of messages. This function is very useful when you want to send a written message, but you don’t want to use voice notes. That is, we can even use them to not touch the mobile while we are driving or doing another task.
How to make the icon appear
If you are one of those who cannot find the icon, there are two clear tests that we must do to try to solve the error. With almost total security, the fault will be in one of them, so you will be able to have the microphone icon on your keyboard in a matter of seconds, since in all cases the solution has gone through one of these two methods. In an extreme case, it is always possible to uninstall and reinstall the keyboard. However, the solutions that give the best results are the following:
Method 1
The first thing we will have to do is enter the Settings and go to the Language and writing section. Once inside, we must make sure that the “Activate voice dictation” box is activated. Now we will have to exit and return to an app where the keyboard appears to see if the problem has been resolved.
Method 2
If with this function active the icon still does not appear, we may have to activate the word suggestions, since otherwise , in many cases we will not see the option. To do this, we will have to go back into Settings and into the Languages and writing options (or text input). Then we touch on “Manage keyboards!” and once inside we open the settings. Finally we touch on “Spell check” and activate the “Spell check”. Now the voice dictation icon should appear.
