Xiaomi Announces Which Mobiles Will Be Updated to Android 11

Taking a walk through the Xiaomi forum we see how a good number of phones that will receive Android 11 have just been announced. However, as often happens, the most interesting thing about this list is not the phones that are going to be updated soon, but the ones that will be left without their corresponding software ration.

Where are the Redmi Note 8?

It is not the first time that we see how the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 7, launched on the market with Android 9 Pie, are left out of Xiaomi’s update plans because the brand considers them as “cheap mobiles”. Although it was something we expected, several owners of these phones have long complained about this situation in the forums of the brand due to the abandonment of their phones.

What we are used to the work of Xiaomi we know that the mid-range smartphones of the firm do not usually receive more than one important update, and only the high-end ones usually have two. For this reason, models launched on the market with Android 9, such as the Xiaomi Mi 9, will receive the update to Android 11 while other mid-range smartphones would be left out.

However, it is still possible that the brand will carry MIUI 13 to both the Redmi Note 8 and the Note 8 Pro or the Note 8T but it does arrive based on Android 11, it will not do so soon and there is still a long way to go to know if these mobiles will be updated to the latest version of Google’s operating system.
