As we have recently told you, the software giant, Microsoft , has just released the latest monthly security patches for Windows 10. As it is easy to imagine, these correspond to the current month of May 2020, where the firm has corrected a total of 111 vulnerabilities.
However, as has happened on so many and many occasions in the past, many users are reluctant to install new system updates, right away. This is mainly due to the problems that these can cause on some occasions, something that we do not stop seeing. For all these reasons, many prefer to wait a few days to see the evolution of these updates and patches on other computers.
Windows 10 Searches, again with problems
This is something that is being seen again right now. In fact and from what is being known at these precise moments, the error that is being detected now, does not happen for the first time. And it is that as you will remember from these months ago, the failures related to the integrated search function of the operating system , is not something new. Well, as we were saying and as some users are reporting these last hours, a failure with Windows searches again occurs due to the last patches sent.
In fact right now on the Internet you are seeing a multitude of reports that show failed Windows search results. Specifically, these lead to an error reporting that the action is taking a long time to load. Also this same error message appears next to a reload button when trying to search.
Of course, at the moment it does not seem to affect everyone. This is something that is being reported on sites such as the popular Reddit portal, or on the Microsoft forums themselves, as well as on social networks. What’s more, some report that they are experiencing this problem even after reloading the search page or after restarting the PC .
Solutions to retrieve Windows searches
At the same time, as usual in these cases, we find some solutions for all this. These are proposed by some of those affected, such as ending the Windows Search process from Task Manager . Perhaps reloading the page should return Windows Search, but some users have noticed that the problem disappeared only after repairing the system image.
Therefore, if you are one of those affected by all this, you can use the DISM tool or the SFC command to scan and repair the Windows 10 image. To do this we press the key combination Win + R where we write cmd to access the command line. Here we can already write the command: DISM / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth, which should solve the problem we have told you about.
Uninstall the problem update
Likewise, and as is usually the case in these cases, uninstalling the problematic update , which is usually the most recent update , corrects the problem. This is something that we can carry out from the Windows 10 Configuration application, which we access with the Win + I key combination. From there, we have to go to Update and security / View update history / Uninstall updates.
Of course, it is currently unknown how many users are affected by the latest Windows Search problem. Despite all this and as we saw in the past, it would not be surprising that it spread over the days.
