In recent years, our mobile chargers have undergone a small revolution. Cable and adapter are independent, although they were not in the past, and new fast chargers are also being included. But on many occasions, the charger makes a small strange noise that can put us on alert. Is it something serious?
The noises in the mobile charger are perceived much more clearly when there are no other noises around. It may not always happen and it even disappears at times, but the truth is that strange sounds in the mobile charger , when it is charging, is common. However, it is very normal for the user to be surprised and even feel a certain nervousness when he stops to hear that his charger is making this type of noise.
Why is the charger making noise?
This is something that falls within the norm, since the charger contains components that can vibrate slightly during use and the variation of incoming voltage. This is normal and does not indicate a problem with the charger. The electromagnetism that occurs inside the charger causes this noise and vibrations that can be more or less audible.

When it works at a certain frequency, the magnetic fields generated inside the charger generate a vibration, which is often audible, when it is above 20 KHz, perfectly detectable by the human ear. Generally, the final part of the load decreases the frequency and the noise can become a little higher, but in general, it will only be perfectible in very quiet environments. It is also likely that if we are not using the original mobile charger, this noise may be more pronounced in some third-party products, since it is possible that when using the original cable and a third-party adapter or vice versa, the reaction inside may vary slightly.
What can be done?
As it is a normal process of charging our device and specifically the charger, there is not much we can do to eliminate noise. The main recommendation that manufacturers make is to disconnect the charger after use. Likewise, if the sound increases or becomes too pronounced, it is recommended to go to the Technical Service of our manufacturer so that they can check this point. If the charger is under warranty and there really is a problem, it is quite possible that a new one will be delivered to us.
