When can you install the MIUI 13 beta on your Xiaomi?

After having been able to know what the new MIUI 13 layer will offer us, the deployment of the renewed Xiaomi customization layer begins. However, it is not yet the turn of our country, but we do have the dates when it will arrive. At the moment the deployment is starting in China, as is usual and that lets us see the news shown during the presentation.

It will not take long until the new MIUI makes us forget the failures of MIUI 12 that so many headaches gave until the arrival of MIUI 12.5. However, we must remember that it is a beta version and if we are interested in being among the first to enjoy it, we could still find errors that will be solved little by little.

MIUI 13 Global date

As shown after the presentation of the new Xiaomi layer, we will have to wait for the Global version, the one that is widely used in Spain, to start. It will be during the first quarter of 2022 when we can talk about the official update that most users will use, without going through the beta.

However, if you are interested in enjoying the beta before anyone else, you will have to stay tuned. Through Xiaomi’s Mi Pilot program through which we can be among the first to update our mobile to MIUI 13, taking into account its possible failures. There is no set date on the calendar that will make us wait for a specific day, but nevertheless, this usually occurs 2 or 3 weeks after the beta arrives in China if there are no serious failures.

Having started today the 29th, we could move to the middle of January to be able to download and install it manually.

Despite this, not all Xiaomi will have that opportunity and the option will start for a specific number of smartphones. Despite what we might imagine, not only high-end Xiaomi smartphones will have the advantage of enjoying the beta version, but it has been confirmed that some models of the Redmi series will also have that option. On the other hand, if we have a POCO mobile, the company will offer the update in its own way and at the moment it has not made any announcement about it.

The list of selected smartphones is as follows:

  • Xiaomi Mi 11
  • My 11 Ultra, My 11i
  • My 11 Lite 5G
  • Mi 11 Lite 4G
  • Xiaomi 11 Lite NE
  • Xiaomi 11T
  • Xiaomi 11T Pro
  • Redmi 10
  • Redmi Note 10
  • Redmi Note 10 Pro
  • Redmi Note 10 Pro Max
  • Redmi Note 8 (2021)

All of them will be the ones that will be able to test the system changes before anyone else, such as: renewed smart widgets, a wide series of animated wallpapers, improvements in security and privacy or the new control center. At least that is what Xiaomi says, but it would not be surprising that as has happened other times, the cheapest models are limited.

These will be the first news, but as the beta version progresses we will discover other relevant changes. The beta will also be constantly updated, until it is time to make the leap to the official and final dislike in which MIUI 13 is polished.
