Looking forward to Windows 11
The “WindowsReport” medium was in charge of carrying out an investigation based on the opinions of 11,097 users who were in charge of completing an online survey on Microsoft’s new operating system. Of the participants, almost 45% correspond to users from the United States and India, while the rest of the most active countries were the United Kingdom, Canada or Australia.
From the results of this survey some interesting details are obtained, such as, for example, that 53% of the respondents answered that they are considering taking the leap, answering “It looks incredible! I can’t wait to install it” to the question of which one. was their opinion about Windows 11. 21% answered that it was quite similar to Windows 10, 13% answered that “I don’t like it, I will not update”, 7% said that they “expected a revision with more news” and a 6% indicated that “The design is inspired by macOS”.
This survey has also revealed that Windows 11 has been a huge boost for the Windows Insider program. 17% of responding users signed up to try the new operating system first-hand before anyone else. Even a third of those surveyed were willing to switch to a touch device once Windows 11 comes out.
In addition, the desire to upgrade to Windows 11 has even reached Windows 7 users. According to the results of the survey, no less than 54% of respondents with Windows 7 are eager to update to the latest version of the operating system of Microsoft.
The minimum requirements, the great unknown for many
However, this is not all good news for Windows 11. Well, it is true that 35% pointed to the centered Start menu as their new favorite feature, above the games functions (11%) and the new multitasking functions (8 %), while almost half of those surveyed do not quite like the new look .
Another negative aspect is that a quarter of users did not meet the official system requirements to be able to work on their computer. While 34% had no idea whether or not PC was compatible with Windows 11. Perhaps this is a clear signal to Microsoft, which should clarify more everything related to hardware or software requirements.
In addition, 10% of the respondents who responded to the survey have a compatible PC but did not pass the compatibility test with Microsoft’s PC Health Check application. The main reason is the TPM 2.0 chip, as older computers with TPM 1.2 will not be able to run Windows 11. And just in case, 42% of those surveyed don’t know what a TPM chip is .
