Warzone for mobile? Activision is already on it

Warzone for mobile

The battle royale continue to top the lists of the most played titles in the world and, as you know, some of them top the income rankings despite being free developments . Fortnite is the best example of all and Activision, which has one of the best-known franchises in the world of video games, does not want to be left without its piece of cake in the smartphone field.

Soon we will have it on mobile

Call of Duty Warzone is the name of Activision’s battle royale bet that has been available for some time on both consoles and PC, but it is clear that it will not make the leap in number of players (and income) until it contemplates its arrival of the screens of our smartphones. So much so that Fortnite or PUBG , for example, already have versions specifically prepared for these devices. In the case of the Epic game, the story is a bit more complicated, because due to a legal dispute with Apple, it has disappeared from the App Store. But it will come back.

The fact is that Activision has made public in recent hours that it is developing a version for mobile phones from scratch and that they need hands to achieve their goals. Specifically, the message uploaded to social networks comes to say that «We are developing Call of Duty Warzone for mobile devices! Apply today for your place in the development and distribution teams!”, so they call for action from professionals who want to sign up.

We are building Call of Duty® Warzone™ for mobile! Apply today for exciting roles across the development and publishing teams!

Closer, but not as close

Warzone is a battle royale that arrived in March 2020 as another title in the franchise, only focused on competing against Fortnite and PUBG. With a gigantic map and the same Call of Duty gameplay of the canonical titles of the saga, we had to become the only survivor of the 150 (and up to 200) players who can join each of their sessions and who, from Last year, it has adopted the seasonal mechanic to separate substantial changes and improvements within the game.

Thus, for example, with the arrival of Call of Duty Vanguard (set in World War II), Warzone was renamed Pacific due to the entry of new content. Now, this entire ecosystem created around the battle royale leg will reach mobile phones, although it is still too early to set a date because Activision’s announcement is not focused on notifying players, but rather on recruiting talent to complete the process.

And it is that in the announcement of Call of Duty Warzone for mobiles they expressly ask for “trained operators in all aspects of game development. This large-scale battle royale experience is being built natively for mobile devices with cutting-edge technology”, and more specifically, they seem to be somewhat lame from producers, engineers, designers, artists, marketing personnel and others who do not specify. So, looking at the recruiting page, we’re not sure if they have something already advanced or not.

So with this panorama we can be happy because Call of Duty Warzone will reach our smartphones but, on the other hand, we are also not clear about the deadlines that are going to be handled to have it available. Maybe 2023? Or later?
