Cloudflare has launched a beta of its popular VPN WARP service for PC and Mac . Until now, this VPN was available only for mobile devices with Android and iOS, the goal of Cloudflare is not only to navigate for security and privacy over the Internet, but also to speed it up as much as possible by using its own DNS servers. According to Cloudflare, they do not collect data from their customers and delete it to protect their privacy. On the official WARP Cloudflare VPN website , you can download and use the new VPN for PC and Mac completely free of charge, a free service because it is in beta, and then we will have a limited free service and also a premium service unlimited, just like WARP + for mobile devices. This new program is very easy to install and also to configure, since we will have very interesting configuration options, such as:
- Disable WARP VPN on certain Wi-Fi wireless networks
- Disable VPN on all Wi-Fi networks
- Disable VPN on all wired networks
This is something that we did not have available in the app, but that on PC and Mac computers is necessary, since it is possible that we are only interested in connecting to the VPN in public networks, and not in our own Wi-Fi network at home, Thanks to these options, we can configure the behavior of the VPN.
Other very interesting options is the DNS policy, we can use Cloudflare’s own 1.1.1.1 DNS servers, either through WARP, through DNS over HTTPS and even DNS over TLS, ideal to perfectly adapt to those that the user wants. We will also have a very interesting DNS filtering, and it is that we will be able to activate the DNS without filtering anything, DNS with malware filtering, and also DNS with malware filtering + adult content. This last option is ideal for the smallest of the house, and who can navigate safely.
As you have seen in the previous screenshots, we currently have very interesting configuration options, although logically they are not as advanced as commercial VPNs that are paid, but the best thing about Cloudflare is that it is very easy to use, and above all, really fast both in terms of speed and connection latency.
