Why does my Xbox One show black image?
It’s just what happened with my console. After testing a projector with 120 Hz compatibility, I have reconnected my console to my main screen and stopped having an image. The mystery has a very simple explanation. In the console configuration, the 1080p mode at 120 Hz is still selected, and since my monitor only reaches 60 Hz, the console does not display image on the screen.
To solve it you have to reset the parameters of the console, but quiet, you will not lose anything, or the network configuration, or profiles, or any other type of configuration that has nothing to do with the resolution of the screen. These are the steps to follow.
- Make sure your console is completely turned off. If you have quick start enabled, it is probably suspended, so you have two options. Either you remove the plug, or keep the power button pressed for 10 seconds to cause forced shutdown.
- Once you have the console turned off it is time to turn it on, but we will not do it as usual. This is when the button combination that allows us to reset the video parameters of Xbox One comes into action.

- You should keep both buttons pressed until you hear a second sound warning from the console (such as the power sound). When you hear it, you can release the buttons, and the console will have completely erased the video parameters.

What do we get? The image that will appear on the screen will be of horrible quality, but don’t worry. This is because the console has been turned on with the most basic possible video setting: 640 × 480 pixels.
Now you just have to enter the menu >> TV settings and screen options, and in the screen section select the resolution that best suits you.
