Well, the latest studies tell us that while the use of this operating system is increasing, that of its competitor, Linux , decreases a little. Many still believe that Windows is the only desktop operating system that can be used, but it is far from it. In fact it can be said that Linux adoption has improved substantially in recent months.
The use of Windows grows, while Linux falls
Although with a much lower market share, Linux distributions could be considered as the competitor of Windows for desktops. But it seems that the good news in this regard has changed a bit this summer. We tell you this because the latest data for July provided by NetMarketShare shows that the world of open source declined somewhat last month. To give us an idea, Linux fell from a 3.61% share in June to 3.57% a month later.
It is a minimal decrease, it is true, but on the other hand we find the growth of Windows. As for the Redmond system, market share data shows that it increased from 86.69% in June to 87.03% last month.
As expected, this growth is mostly in Windows 10, since it is the most current and modern version of the system. Although Windows 8.1 still has official support, its market share is very low. At the same time, it’s worth knowing that Windows 7 continues to work on more than 20% of Windows devices worldwide.
Chrome, like Windows, goes up, which affects Firefox

But perhaps the one that has suffered the most in this regard is Mozilla Firefox . We say this because its share fell from 7.58% to 7.27%, while Internet Explorer experienced a strange rise from 4.53% to 5.99%. Therefore it is evident that the objectives set by the top managers of Mozilla are not being met.
