Twitter Prepares a New, More Transparent Verification System

Twitter is preparing a new account verification system . There is no specific date for its availability, but thanks to Jane Manchun Wong we know that this is the case. So, it is great news for everyone and especially for those who, since they gave the option, have insistently pursued achieving with the coveted blue badge without success.

New Twitter verification system

Twitter New Transparent Verification System

The verification of user accounts is nothing new. You can request your verified account on Instagram , Facebook, Twitter and many other social networks. In each and every one of these platforms the objective has always been the same: to assure the people who follow said account that it is the real one, thus confirming that behind is the person or brand that they truly want to follow and not another, impersonating their identity. You know, the typical parody accounts or those that are created to misinform.

However, it must also be admitted that the interest for many other users responds to the objective of achieving status within the platform. Because yes, the blue badge for many is a symbol of that, of being a user with weight within the platform. It may be somewhat absurd, but it is so.

Well, whatever your case or need, the truth is that the information published by Jane Manchun Wong on her own Twitter profile will interest you. According to her, from whom you should know that she has already discovered and advanced many features that these popular platforms have later presented, Twitter is working on a new option that can be seen within the account settings: Request verification.

To access it, just go to the settings and then to the Personal Information section . This is where you can see this new option, which is expected to clarify much more in the process. Because that has always been the great criticism towards the platform and its verification. As much as they indicated that they would only be given to public accounts such as musicians, politicians or other characters of public interest, sometimes it has also been given to users who do not know very well what type of interest arouses or who are really controversial.

Therefore, we hope that this will indeed happen and all this public documentation will allow us to better know what criteria are used for the verification of accounts. And incidentally, a process will reopen to everyone that if you go to the Twitter support website  you can see that it is currently on pause, although it really is not and some verifications have been given in recent months.

When can I check my Twitter profile again?

At the moment, it is not known when this new option will be available to verify a Twitter profile . What we do know is that the platform continues to work actively to fix that option that has caused so many headaches and criticism in recent years.

And that today the badge may mean less than what was initially believed. Because we are seeing how many users do not even pay attention to the possible differences that may exist between the username and the name of the account profile. So they easily continue to fall into disinformation and hoaxes weighing that it is the real account of a public person, brand or medium.
