They Installed Android 10 on an iPhone 7. How Is It Done?

While numerous users of Android phones are still waiting for the arrival of the latest Google software and many others complain that manufacturers wield “hardware problems” to bring the latest version of the American firm’s operating system to their phones, they now manage Install Android 10 on an iPhone 7 , phone with about 4 years of life.

Several developers do not agree with Apple‘s closed system for their devices and, beyond developments such as jailbreak, there is a group of computer scientists who disagree with these limits imposed on iOS and set out to remedy the situation with the Sandcastle Project . This has led them to run Android on one of the Cupertino company phones, as seen in the following video.

The iPhone restricts users from operating within its components and its software, but, according to the developer group, from the moment you buy an iPhone, you become the owner of the phone’s hardware. In order to install Android 10 on the iPhone 7, the group has used the same jailbreak checkra1n we talked about yesterday to see how a developer managed to release Apple’s smartphone using an Android phone.

Android on iPhone

Just as it was possible to install previous versions of Android on older iPhones , now the developer group has wanted to work with the latest version of the Google operating system and right now they are already working on expanding the project to other iPhone models that can run the jailbreak

Apparently, the vulnerabilities that have been used to make checkra1n jailbreak possible and, consequently, bring to fruition the installation of Android 10 on the iPhone 7 proposed in the Sandcastle Project, are extremely unlikely to solve why this system, theoretically, it will work forever across the entire range of vulnerable iPhones,

Is it functional?

Logically, we will not be able to use the mobile as if a terminal prepared to run Android 10 out. On the one hand, the main functions such as Bluetooth, audio, data connectivity and camera do not work. In fact, reminding us of the situation that Huawei is experiencing, it is not even possible to install the GMS (Google Mobile Services) so you cannot access any Google application such as Play Store. The installation of Android itself is also not permanent and as soon as the phone is restarted all data is lost.

Of course, the project has managed to apply a dual boot system that allows you to restart again in iOS when you need to use the smartphone normally.
