The Mountain View company plans to introduce one of the most demanded innovations in Android in recent years and that is integrated recharge planning . A change that is already evident because there are those who have had the pleasure of checking the source code of the map app.
Google Maps improvement for electric cars
Every day millions of people go to Google Maps either from their mobile phone or their own vehicle. In the latter case, there are those who have an electric car and this class of users are the ones who will be able to take advantage of the new feature of the application. Mainly, because this option is only available in the version of the app for cars under the Android ecosystem or those that have Google services.
This is the current case of brands such as Renault, Volvo, Polestar and others that will join in the future. However, the application for smartphones may not experience this change for a while, since the planning of charging stops for electric cars is exclusively for vehicles.
Now, Google Maps will be able to store a greater amount of data regarding this class of cars. This will allow the application to carry out an approximate calculation to know if you will arrive at your destination with the current charge level of the car. Otherwise, the system will automatically add the necessary charging points to reach it.

This is because it has only been seen in the source code of the system, but this could indicate that it would take a matter of months for it to reach vehicles.
