While the iPhone 14 hit the market just half a year ago, we already know the official design of Apple‘s next models for this year 2023, the iPhone 15 . They are not expected to see the light until next September, but the first images that advance design have already emerged on the Internet.
As every year, Apple begins production of the first models of its new family in the first quarter of the year, with Foxconn being the manufacturer chosen, again, to bring the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 to life. Pro Max. Thanks to this, the 9to5Mac portal has published the first CAD files of the future iPhone 15 Pro, allowing us to take a look at the changes in the design of the smartphone.
What’s new in the iPhone 15 Pro
Keep in mind that these renders are usually sent to the different case manufacturers so that they can prepare their accessories before launch. In this way, they provide crucial information about the general design of the device and its dimensions and, although we will not be able to confirm for a few months if the phone is 100% the same as what we see in these images, it seems that it will.
Unsurprisingly, and packaging these images of the iPhone 15 Pro , Apple won’t be carrying out a major redesign of the phone. It’s still the same flat-screen, straight-edge form factor, with a few little things changing on the outside.
Beyond the fact that cameras seem to have more and more dedicated space on the back cover, what is most striking is the expected change from the Lightning port to USB Type C. Let’s remember that this is something that the company does not do voluntarily, but because of the different legal regulations that come from Europe.
Another change is the curvature of the edges, both in the glass and in the metal frame. The glass is slightly curved at the edges, which should create a more direct transition to the frames and make the smartphone easier to hold in one hand.
Regarding what we have mentioned about the design of the camera on the back, we now see that it is thicker than in the current iPhone 14 Pro , which could indicate that Apple is updating the camera system with new sensors or lenses. Nonetheless, the camera design remains similar to the iPhone 14 Pro , with three lenses and a LiDAR scanner arranged in a square module.
As seen in the image that we left just above these lines, there are also changes on the device side, where the physical buttons of the current line of phones from the American manufacturer could give way to the capacitive buttons that have been rumored so much in recent weeks. However, as a personal bet, this is the feature that we least expect to see in the future iPhone 15 Pro and in the rest of the brand’s equipment.
