The fastest SSD you can install in your Steam Deck

Corsair, a well-known manufacturer in the PC storage industry, has recently surprised consumers by releasing its new MP600 Mini SSD without prior notice. This compact SSD is one of the fastest options available for installation in a portable console such as the Steam Deck from Valve, due to its M.2 2230 format. Additionally, Corsair has also launched the MP600 CORE XT, which we will discuss in this article.

Corsair’s extensive experience in the PC storage industry is evident from their history of launching SSDs for outdated interfaces such as SATA 3. However, their SSDs have always been positioned as high-performance, reaching the maximum potential of the interfaces available at the time. The MP600 Mini is no exception, boasting top-of-the-line performance.

The MP600 Mini SSD from Corsair is designed to be smaller in size compared to its predecessor, the MP600. It features an M.2 2230 form factor, which measures only 22 x 30 mm, making it an ideal option for use on portable devices like Valve’s Steam Deck and Microsoft‘s Surface Pro 8 and 9. Of course, it can also be used on traditional PCs. Its smaller size makes it compatible with a wider range of devices, without compromising on its high-performance capabilities.

Despite its small size, the Corsair MP600 Mini offers impressive speeds of up to 4,800 MB/s in both read and write, thanks to its PCI-Express 4.0 interface. This makes it ideal for portable consoles, such as the Steam Deck and Microsoft Surface Pro 8 and 9, as well as PCs. However, due to its limited capacity for memory chips, it is only available in 1TB capacity, which may be a downside for some users. The official price for this 1TB capacity unit is €124.99, although it may be available at a lower price in the brand’s store network.

Corsair MP600 CORE XT, improving the quality / price ratio

Corsair has recently unveiled its MP600 CORE XT SSDs, which come in the standard M.2 2280 form factor that is commonly used in the PC industry. These SSDs utilize 3D QLC NAND Flash memory chips that offer high density with reasonable performance, all at affordable prices.

Corsair has recently launched its MP600 CORE XT SSDs, which have the standard M.2 2280 format and make use of 3D QLC NAND Flash memory chips. Despite offering high-density storage at reasonable prices, they are capable of providing decent performance with theoretical speeds of up to 5,000 MB/s read and 4,400 MB/s write, thanks to the PCI-Express 4.0 x4 interface.

The MP600 CORE XT comes in 1, 2, and 4 TB capacities, and the 4 TB model offers durability up to 900 TBW. The prices are quite affordable, with the 1 TB model costing only €69.99, the 2 TB model priced at €134.99, and the 4 TB model priced at €324.99. These SSDs are already available on the Corsair website and will soon be available in their usual store network.
