According to the study, shipments of this class of devices increased by 571% year -on-year in the first quarter of this year 2022, reaching 2.22 million.

This positions it as the third best quarter in the history of this category. However, the figure is lower compared to the fourth quarter of 2021, where they reached the smartphone record with 4.2 million units sold. In short, the current numbers are 47% lower than those at the end of the previous year.

The DSCC document also includes graphs showing which is the most popular phone among users in this field. In first place, leading the ranking for the third month in a row is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 with a 51% shipping share, followed by its larger companion the Galaxy Z Fold 3, while in third position is the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3. Huawei P50 Pocket very close to the terminal of the Korean brand.

Between these three models they occupied 91% of the shipments and none of the rest such as OPPO Find N 5G, Honor Magic V and even the Xiaomi Mi Mix Fold exceeded a 2.5% share.
