The global presentation of the new generation of Xiaomi 13 smartphones is getting closer, although there are already many who have had the pleasure of carrying out performance tests. The last one has to do with battery life, where the Xiaomi 13 Pro has managed to knock out the entire high-end range with only one exception.
Despite the fact that Apple has smaller capacity batteries compared to those used by Android, iPhones usually boast greater autonomy due to the energy efficiency of both their hardware and software. However, all indications are that the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor will make a huge difference within the Android ecosystem, so let’s see if this statement is true through comparison.
The Xiaomi 13 Pro has no rival

In such a way that it helps us to directly compare the performance of the battery in mobiles with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and the new version.
The only ones that have a different processor are the Google Pixel 7 Pro with its Tensor G2 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max with the Apple A16 Bionic; while the Xiaomi 12S Ultra equips a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, that is, the improved version of the chip. To carry out the test, they have put all the devices to play PUBG with a timer to check how long each of them lasts. Graphics settings are configured identically for all in order to establish a level playing field.
After a 3-hour game session, the temperature of the Xiaomi 13 Pro was lower than that of the rest of the Android terminals with 32.2 ºC. The only one that achieves a lower figure is the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 29.2 ºC. The other alternatives in the Google ecosystem are close to 35 ºC, with the OnePlus 10 Pro being the one that reaches the highest temperature.
Regarding the remaining battery percentage, the Xiaomi 13 Pro remains at 76% after 3 hours and the only device that is above it is again the iPhone 14 Pro Max with 82% battery. On the other hand, the difference compared to other Android phones is quite significant, since there is a gap of at least 14% in the case of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra and its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip. A clear example that it promises greater energy efficiency.
The best Android battery
The test continues to play videos on YouTube with the same resolution for everyone and once again the Xiaomi 13 Pro comes out on top within the Android ecosystem. After about 7 hours, the flagship of the Chinese brand has the same temperature as the iPhone 14 Pro Max and its battery percentage exceeds 50% , being the only one under the Google operating system that meets this objective.
The worst unemployed is the Google Pixel 7 Pro, which only has a remaining battery of 20%. An unsatisfactory experience that shows that the efficiency of the Google Tensor G2 chip does not reach the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or the sole of the shoe.
