Among the phones with the best quality / price ratio of Xiaomi, the Redmi Note 8 occupies a privileged place. The previous generation was a best seller, and this successor has improved in many aspects, especially in the photographic section. Now we have four rear cameras with which we can take photos with more possibilities than ever.
It does not matter that we have many sensors, if they are not backed by up-to-date software capable of offering various shooting options. The Redmi Note 8 features four rear cameras and a drop-shaped notch-hosted selfie sensor. Before looking at the best camera tricks for this device, let’s review each and every one of these sensors:

Activate Pro Mode
Venturing to use the Professional Mode of our mobile phone, can be somewhat chaotic if we have never had contact with the adjustment of so many parameters. However, we will soon take it easy and we will be able to get better photos than we did with automatic shooting.
White balance
With this option we can adjust the tone of the image colors. If the image has a very warm reddish brown or orange tone, then we can touch the light bulb or sun option and it will give us a cooler tone, either to counteract the tone or because we want to consciously give another aspect to the image. It is a way of playing with the tone that will allow us to achieve just the desired image.
Exhibithion time
This determines the time that the sensor is going to be exposed to the light input , which is measured in seconds and fractions of a second. If the value is less we will be able to capture a still image. This is why in many cases, an image is shaky since the capture time with a higher value is longer and total stillness is required before shooting.
Focal aperture
With this factor we will measure the light input into the sensor of our mobile camera, so the lower the focal aperture value, the sharper the image will be. If we want to take a night image with great detail of the sky and stars, a value of 100 can be ideal when needed, I need the maximum image amplitude.
ISO sensitivity
This value allows us to control how illuminated the photo will be, retaining more or less light. The higher its value, the more light the sensor collects, but obviously it also receives more interference, which is called noise. In many cases the Automatic Mode does not measure this value well , so knowing how to use the Pro Mode to change these values can make the difference between a good photo and something that looks like a photo.
Stabilize photos
With automatic option
In many cases, a bad pulse is the cause of a blurred photo and the wrong focus. Luckily, our Redmi Note 8 has a dedicated option to automatically stabilize and straighten photos. To do it, we just have to click on the “straighten” button. Then a box will open that will adjust the image automatically.
Using a tripod
It is the best way to stabilize the image before shooting. If we are going to make our first photographic shots, getting a tripod is essential. We found many options on Amazon, at prices around ten euros , even with automatic Bluetooth triggers included.
Activate HDR
It is an option that is available on other Xiaomi phones such as its brother the Redmi Note 8 Pro. It is activated from the camera options. When shooting with HDR Mode on, images have a level of detail and dynamic range very similar to normal mode, however colors look more natural.
Night mode
Much of the photos are taken at night. The Redmi Note 8, despite being an affordable mid-range mobile, has a powerful Night Mode that we can activate to achieve better results in low-light conditions. In the night mode we will achieve a good noise reduction, keeping the details and reducing the over-exposed lights.
Macro mode
The Redmi Note 8 Pro features a 2 megapixel macro sensor. This means that we can get close shots with a great level of detail. We can approach an object up to 2 centimeters away. We must make sure that the object is well lit. It is activated by clicking on the “flower” icon available in the camera options.
