Mobile phones have more and more memory and that makes us forget the problems that we used to suffer previously, however there are still deficiencies in many of them. To solve this we have an option to send all the photos directly to the SD card of Xiaomi phones , thus leaving the internal storage reserved for apps and other content.
This also allows us that in case our mobile breaks we can recover the photos just by removing the MicroSD card and inserting it into the computer. Using this method is very simple and we will only have to follow the steps that we tell you below for an option that we can use in MIUI 10, MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 without problems. We should not confuse it, although we can replace it with the option to convert the sd card into internal memory with a Xiaomi mobile.
Set SD card as default for photos
To begin the process, all we inevitably have to do is insert a MicroSD card in our mobile, without it the options that we show you will not appear. Then we just have to follow the following steps that we show you:
- We enter the native camera app of our Xiaomi mobile.
- Afterwards, we touch on the upper part on the three points.
- Now we touch on the settings wheel.
- Among everything that will appear, we must search for “Save to SD card”.
From this moment on, all the photos we take with the mobile will be saved directly to the external memory of our mobile.
Problems using the SD card as memory on Xiaomi
Although the process may seem very simple with the previous steps, sometimes it can be more complicated than desired due to various problems to use the SD card as memory in Xiaomi . This failure is preceded by the fact that we have used the card in other devices and the format has been changed. Given this, what we will do is format the card and return it to the original state.
To do this, what we must do is enter Settings> Storage and look for the section where you put format SD card. If we cannot find it, we can choose the settings search engine in MIUI. This will take us directly to the option and the smartphone will be in charge of changing the format to which it is compatible with our mobile, but we must also bear in mind that it will erase everything we have already saved on the Micro SD card.
