As with the previous generation, Samsung has just launched a “Lite” version of the Galaxy S20, which is not such in terms of performance, since we are facing a full-fledged high-end terminal. In this way, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was born , which after countless previous leaks, becomes official to announce its arrival on the market where it hopes to find its place.
Once again, the leaks have been responsible for weeks, and with more incidence in recent days, leaving little room for surprise during the Samsung Unpacked. In this way, the Korean company has presented a new member of the Galaxy S20 family, called Galaxy S20 FE, since the “Lite” label worn by the Galaxy S10 variant has been banished.
4G and 5G versions
As previously rumored, the Galaxy S20 FE will hit the market with Exynos and Qualcomm processor variants . The Snapdragon 865 variant will be responsible for equipping the device with 5G, while the Exynos 990 version (cheaper) will be perfect for users who are not worried or who do not have the option yet to connect to the new generation mobile network.
120Hz rate display
Samsung has confirmed that the terminal has a screen that reaches 6.5 inches and a resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels , with an aspect ratio of 20: 9. This panel is of the Super Amoled type and has a small hole in the upper center to house the selfie sensor. It is also confirmed that this screen has a maximum refresh rate of 120 Hz and that it is protected with Gorilla Glass 3. The terminal has dimensions of 74.5 x 159.8 x 8.4mm and 190 grams of weight. It has two stereo speakers signed by AKG and has resistance to water and dust thanks to its IP68 certificate.
Processor and memory
Both its variant with Exynos processor and with Snapdragon, are accompanied by 6 GB or 8GB of RAM and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage, with UFS 3.1 technology, which can expand this capacity up to 256 GB using microSD cards. The terminal supports connection with Xbox Pass to be able to experience the power of a next-generation console on a mobile screen, something that is gaining more and more strength.
Triple rear camera
On the rear we find a triple rear camera, with two 12 megapixel sensors (wide angle and ultra wide angle) and a third 8 megapixel telephoto sensor with 3X optical zoom (30X Space Zoom) On the front and integrated into the hole in its screen, we find a 32 megapixel selfie camera.
The Galaxy S20 Fan Edition has advanced features that we have seen in its bigger brothers such as Space Zoom, Night Mode, Single Take and Super Steady Mode. It is also capable of recording video in 8K UHD and 4K UHD resolution.
Among the rest of the features that the leaked web reveals, we can see how the Galaxy S20 FE runs Android 10 with the OneUI layer and that it will have technologies such as Samsung Dex, Quick Share or Wireless PowerShare. In addition, and due to its new policy, Samsung has confirmed three years of operating system updates for this device, so it will end its days with Android 13 in its gut. The terminal has a battery of 4 . 500 mAh that supports 25W fast charging , but a 15W charger will be included in the sales package. The terminal also has wireless charging and reverse charging, NFC and of course a fingerprint sensor on the screen for safe unlocking.
Price and date of sale
Galaxy S20 FE will be available on October 2 on Samsung.com , carriers and online stores. Pre-order begins September 23 on all channels and includes Galaxy Fit 2 or Game controller as gift options. The prices of all models and variants are as follows:
