The arrival of any update is always good news. However, a simple security patch is not received with the same joy as a major operating system update. It was yesterday, when we told you that One UI 2.5 is starting to reach the Galaxy M21, and now it is his older brother who receives the good news. We are facing the most recent version of Samsung’s customization layer, not counting the current beta of One UI 3.0 that the most powerful terminals of the Korean firm are testing little by little.
One UI 2.5 for the Galaxy M31
The Galaxy M31 is one of the most balanced terminals of the Galaxy M family, and one of Samsung’s best-sellers. Now, you are starting to receive build number M315FXXU2ATJ9 , as an update to One UI 2.5. This new version is also accompanied by the Android security patch of November 2020. The reports that arrive from SamMobile indicate that this update is beginning to reach the Galaxy M31 in India, but this only means that it may be a matter of days or few weeks, it lands on the European versions.
The new version is a notable step forward, with improvements such as Samsung’s new keyboard features, including support for a split keyboard in landscape mode. This enables better two-handed typing in landscape mode, improving speed and accuracy. Additionally, messages can now send an SOS message with the location every 30 minutes for 24 hours. As if that weren’t enough, now all Android 10 navigation gestures are included in third-party launchers.
There is other good news aside from the functional novelties. The One UI 2.5 news log for the Galaxy M31 also indicates that there has been an improvement in the cameras. Although there are no more details, it usually refers to improvements in its stability , but many others include improvements in the quality of the shots.
As we say, the update is arriving via OTA in India, but its global landing is expected to be imminent . However, you can perform a manual check from time to time, to try to force the update from Settings / System Updates. However, it should not be necessary, as the terminal will need to notify us as soon as it is available.
