After the turn of the Xiaomi Mi 9 or Xiaomi Mi 9T has arrived, the Redmi Note 8 Pro are the next Xiaomi smartphones to receive MIUI 12. However, not all devices are ready to update, Xiaomi herself has reminded us through a statement informing us of the risks of installing the ROM on our own if the terminal is not one of the selected ones.
Xiaomi advances MIUI 12 in the first place by users who have participated in Mi Pilot and who therefore have the certainty that the update will work properly. However, the ROM that we can find in forums or different websites to install manually is not functional in all cases and could cause serious problems in the Redmi Note 8 Pro.
The dangers of installing MIUI 12 on the Redmi Note 8 Pro
In case we are somewhat impatient and are willing to take risks to enjoy MIUI 12 without having been selected in the My Pilot program we have to know the risks. Xiaomi itself has repeatedly mentioned in its statement that it is a stable Global version but based on a beta so it can not yet be called a final ROM and ready for installation on all smartphones. Until it reaches our models via OTA, it may still be a few days where the developers will finish polishing some aspects.
We would be solely responsible for the process and the results, something that can seriously affect our mobile phone. Something that also affects users of My Pilot if they do not download and install it following the instructions they receive. They also remember that using the official methods to install this version of MIUI 12 could have consequences that are difficult to solve.
So when can we install MIUI 12?
Following the calendar set by Xiaomi, MIUI 12 on the Redmi Note 8 Pro is within the plans for phase 2, which makes us think of the month of July for its official and final launch. It will be then when OTA begins to deploy first in countries such as India and later in Europe. On our site we will keep you informed about the arrival of this update and we can only recommend you to configure the MIUI 11 updater to be one of the first to receive it officially, this is the only method that Xiaomi currently recommends and that we can trust without our data or the device is at no risk.
