We do not need to remember once again the importance of keeping our mobiles updated. It is the best way to have all the news provided by the brand of our device, as well as being up to date with bugs or possible errors that have been corrected. Realme‘s mobiles are constantly updated , although today we are going to see how we can do it ourselves manually.
The normal thing is to receive an update via OTA and that our terminal updates automatically in a few minutes. However, many brands such as realme, hang the firmwares they are launching, in a dedicated section on their official website. In this way, the user can download them and proceed to perform a manual installation, which can also be done very simply.
Before starting
The first step before performing any type of manual update is to perform a backup. We can do it from the phone itself from Settings / Additional Settings / Backup and Restart / Backup and Restore. Now we will only have to select the data to perform the backup.
Two methods to manually update
Once done, we can go to the realme website where we will see all the models with their corresponding firmware versions . Once chosen and downloaded, we will have to make sure that we have more than 30% charge before proceeding to update and not turn off the terminal during the process.
Simple mode
In this method we will have to go to the “File Manager” application of realme and look for the firmware that we have previously downloaded to our phone . Then we click on the firmware and click on “Update Now” since the terminal will detect that it is an update package and will proceed to update it automatically. We will only have to wait for the process to finish and the device to restart to count the new version.
From Recovery Mode
In the same way, we will have to transfer the downloaded firmware to the internal storage of the mobile or to a microSD card. Then we will have to turn off the terminal and then hold down the power buttons and turn down the volume and wait for the mobile to enter Recovery Mode.
Then we will have to choose the language and select the downloaded firmware , either in the internal memory or on the microSD card. Then we click on the firmware and confirm the operation for the update to start. We will only have to wait a few minutes for the process to finish and the mobile will restart with the new firmware.
