When you take the phone out of its box it has been configured at the factory with default settings and it seems that many users are afraid to navigate through the configuration app to improve, much, the user experience with the smartphone. Changing a simple setting will allow us to enjoy a greater number of icons on the screen and locate more apps in the same place.
EMUI takes a long time allowing you to configure an app drawer to accommodate all the apps installed on our Huawei mobile, but it also allows, imitating the style of iOS, to create several home pages with shortcuts to all those apps. However, while the Apple option does not allow altering the grid or the number of icon lines, on Chinese mobile phones we do have the opportunity to do so, and it is very simple.
Screen settings
Once we have lost the fear of entering the smartphone’s settings and touching all the options that have been and will be, what we must do is access the main screen and wallpaper menu, because what we want to change is the appearance of the panel of the phone accommodating more content.
To change the design and layout of the mobile icons, you must enter the Main screen Settings menu that, on your phone, you will find just below the options to alter the covers and the wallpaper .
Change of design
Once inside this menu we will have to work with the first option. Pressing Design will open a small pop-up window at the bottom of the screen giving us to choose 3 different grids: 4 × 6, 5 × 5 or 5 × 6. Doing a simple multiplication we realize that the last option allows us to accommodate up to 30 applications per screen.
The first option would allow us to work with slightly larger icons but limiting the screen space for apps to 24, while the intermediate option allows us to host 25 icons on the front panel. Of course, you also have the option to create different folders to put various applications into them. Each folder occupies the space of an app, thus exponentially expanding the number of apps on the main screen of your Huawei mobile .
We recommend you to be clear about the format and screen design to use because when changing between the different options the apps will be rearranged forcing you to organize them again in case you want to return to a previous design, with the laziness that this entails.
