There are still many months ahead to attend the presentation of the iPhone 12, but from Apple they are already finalizing the corresponding prototypes. In these you can already see most of the improvements that we are going to have in our hands with respect to the previous generation, and the truth is that they coincide with the rumors.
What do the prototypes of the iPhone 12 say?
On Twitter we have seen how Jon Prosser has posted an image showing the characteristics of the iPhone 12. It is logical that Apple is already finalizing the final prototypes to start production in a few months. Luckily, an iPhone is not made overnight, so it is totally normal that we already see the prototypes.

In this published image we observe that there will be a total of 4 iPhone 12 models that do not stray far from what the rumors pointed out. This is also an indication that if until now there were rumors of this iPhone, they will intensify in the coming months. The prototypes mainly target two large ranges: iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro, and within these ranges two models in each.
In the case of the iPhone 12, we will find the 5.4 ″ and 6.1 ″ models that have the code names D52G and D53G respectively. They would be made of aluminum and would include smaller notches. Also, as expected, it will have the A14 processor, 5G connectivity and two cameras on the back.
If we move to the upper range, we have the iPhone 12 Pro that are divided into the 6.1 ″ model and the 6.7 ″ Max model . In this case the code names are D53P and D54P respectively. Unlike the iPhone 12 ‘to dry’, they will have a stainless steel body as well as three cameras that will include the LiDAR sensor that we have seen in the new iPad Pro 2020 . And as in the previous case they will also have the A14 processor and 5G connectivity.
Without a doubt, we will have enough iPhone models to choose from in 2020. This clearly responds to the good sales that the iPhone 11 has had in 2019 and also in 2020, which have made Apple reinforce it. It is clear that they expect these two iPhone models to be the best sellers, although they will always have a superior range with ‘Pro’ characteristics but with a high price. Another big bet is 5G that is present in the entire range of iPhone. This may be the motivation needed to expand the infrastructure needed around the world to take advantage of it.
What other improvements do we expect?
Although it is clear that 5G connectivity and the new LiDAR sensor are going to take all the attention in your presentation, we expect more features. Seeing the competition, we believe that a 120 Hz screen can be quite adequate since it can give a good experience to users. The reversible charge can also be quite adequate to find it on the iPhone 12 to be able to recharge our AirPods in a hurry in which we find ourselves.
But right now we are talking about simple prototypes. We will have to wait until the end of this year to have these iPhone on stage and also in our hands. The price will undoubtedly be one of the great unknowns, although we hope they will maintain the same price as in 2019.
