Although they all mount the same Apple A14 bionic processor , it is logical to think that the iPhone 12 and the iPhone 12 Pro will mount more RAM, for the moment unknown, which allows you to enjoy better performance. Unfortunately, its score in AnTuTu , the benchmark par excellence, is far from what we expected, falling below a dozen Android phones.
The new iPhone, behind Chinese mobiles
As seen in the AnTuTu test results for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro , the former has 4GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and runs on iOS 14.1. With this data, they have obtained 564899 points in the AnTuTu test, 167894 in the CPU test, 201085 in the GPU test, 105677 in the MEM test and 90243 in the UX test. The iPhone 12 Pro, on the other hand, has 6GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage and scored 572133 points in the AnTuTu test, 167437 in the CPU test, 196812 in the GPU test, 114462 in the MEM test, and 93422 in the UX Test.
For the first time in a long time, the AnTuTu scores of the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Pro fall short when compared to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor.
There are 11 smartphones on the market, 9 Chinese and 2 Korean, which, on paper, offer better performance than the iPhone 12. All of them, with a couple of exceptions, are commanded by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor (or the Exynos 990 in the case Samsung Galaxy) and far surpass the data of the iPhone 12 benchmark .
Currently, the benchmark ranking is dominated by the Asus Rog Phone 3 in first place, followed by the Xiaomi Mi 10 Ultra and the OPPO Find X2 Pro .
Of course, we cannot forget that the AnTuTu scores do not exemplify a real user experience since we all know very well that the optimization of iOS with the hardware of the new iPhone is one of the brand’s great weapons against the competition. However, we insist that it is one of the first times that a new Apple model lags behind its counterparts in the Android market.
