OnePlus 8 vs Xiaomi Mi 10: Differences and Which One to Buy

The battle of high-end mobiles is more than served. Most of the brands have already presented their most powerful bets for 2020. One of the last to arrive in these first months of the year has been the OnePlus 8 . The terminal represents a technical and price jump compared to the previous generation. Today we wanted to compare it with one of its biggest rivals such as the Xiaomi Mi 10.

The OnePlus 8 and the Xiaomi Mi 10 have shaken hands this year. Both terminals have left their respective users open-mouthed in the price section. The flagship killer have become only flagships, a paid field for brands such as realme to pick up the baton and draw the sword to take millions of users to their ranks. With this, there is no doubt that they are at the technical forefront and that their rivalry is maximum.

Under the hood we couldn’t expect anything else. Both move with the power of the Snapdragon 865, which also gives them 5G connectivity thanks to the X55 modem. They offer variants with up to 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of internal memory, with UFS 3.0 reading .

Photographic battle

In the photographic section we find a quite important difference. The OnePlus 8 sports a triple rear configuration, with 48-megapixel main sensor, 16-megapixel wide-angle and 2-megapixel macro sensor. For its part, the Xiaomi Mi 10 has four rear sensors, led by a 108 megapixel lens, a 13 megapixel wide angle, and two macro and depth sensors of two megapixels each. In the hole that both terminals show on their screen, we find a 16 megapixel camera on the OnePlus 8 and a 20 megapixel camera on the Xiaomi Mi 10.

Connections and battery

As for the connections, there is no shortage of 5G, Bluetooth 5.1 or NFC. Neither are attributes such as the fingerprint sensor on the screen. We did find a noticeable difference however in the batteries. The OnePlus 8 reaches 4,300 mAh, while the Mi 10 reaches 4,780 mAh . Both have fast charging and wireless charging, something that in the case of OnePlus is completely new. As it could not be otherwise, the two have reached the market with Android 10, so we can expect at least two updates to the operating system from both brands.

Very different prices

Prices have been a controversial section in both models. Both have considerably increased their cost compared to last year’s models. The sensor war, the integration of new technologies, 5G, and of course the need for better margins, have fueled this rise. The OnePlus 8 starts from 709 euros, while we find it from 799 euros.
