Every month Android presents its security patch so that companies can update users’ smartphones with an extra protection and on some occasions brands accompany it with changes in the personalization layer, as has happened this time with the system update that is reaching the cheapest Samsung mobiles in its catalog.
The turn has been this time for the Galaxy M31 and Galaxy M01s, two models that despite their low price, the Samsung firm does not live from them and this time offers them the jump to One UI 2.1 . It is not the latest version of the customization layer since One UI 2.5 is already reaching the high-end models, but it does mean the arrival of interesting news to these models. Among all that we can see we find the following:
- New parental control features.
- Improved dark mode.
- New navigation gestures.
- Improved icon and color customization.
- Complete battery care.
Other Samsung mobiles that will be updated
These models we’ve come across are just the first in a series of cheap Samsung models to be updated this month and the next ones with One UI 2.1. This will allow them to receive the same news that we have known and follow in the wake of other models, although in other cases the update to One UI 2.5 will be direct. In some cases the update will take a little longer due to the implementation that is done by serial numbers and countries, but at least we know that the following models will not miss at least one more step:
- Samsung Galaxy M21
- Galaxy A50
- Galaxy A50s
- Galaxy A30
- Galaxy A30s
- Galaxy A20
- Galaxy A20e
- Galaxy A10
- Galaxy A10e
- Galaxy A60
It is not known if the update will be with One UI 2.1 or 2.5 directly.

All of them have many possibilities to also be part of the plan with One UI 3.0 that for now only reaches the high-end, but which will also do so for the cheapest Samsung models. Until we have more data and at least the beta version comes out, we cannot know more about these plans.
