One UI 2.5 Update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9

The Samsung Galaxy Note 9 can be considered a veteran terminal. The Korean company put it on the market in 2018 and since then, it has received several major updates. The last of them dates from last June, when Samsung updated the device to One UI 2.0 based on Android 10. Now there is good news for the owners of this terminal, as it once again receives an important operating system update, to receive all the news of One UI 2.5.

One UI 2.5 Update for the Samsung Galaxy Note 9

Samsung has recently modified its upgrade policies to make them more competitive with respect to the competition. Family terminals like the Galaxy S or Note will receive three operating system updates. This does not affect the veteran Galaxy Note 9, but we can at least applaud that Samsung has been in a hurry, passing a few months since the arrival of One UI 2.0 to the new 2.5 that is arriving now.

All its news

As reported from SamMobile, Samsung is launching the new version through OTA and is already reaching several European countries such as Germany, so the update in Spain should also be imminent or even be reaching the first units at this time. One UI 2.5 is received on the Galaxy Note 9 with firmware version N960FXXU6FTJ3.

Among its main novelties, the Note 9 is now compatible with wireless DeX, which allows you to use DeX on any television that supports screen mirroring. The terminal camera has also been updated with the Single Take mode that allows you to select the length of the recording. You can also select the video recording resolution based on the different frames, between 24.30 or 60fps in Pro mode.

The Samsung keyboard is also renewed with a new YouTube search function, and the option to use the split keyboard in landscape mode. In addition, the “Messages” application adds a new function that allows you to send emergency messages every 30 minutes for 24 hours, as part of its different personal safety options.

End of updates?

Except for surprise, and according to the history of Samsung and its update policy, this new version should mean the end of the major operating system updates for the Galaxy Note 9. However and how could it be otherwise, you will continue to receive the corresponding monthly security patches. However, as of next year since the terminal would be three years old, these updates will become quarterly.
