Yesterday the Dune production company released a “sneak peek” in which it reminded us that the trailer for the film was released today. Illusive … as if we were going to forget. And here is finally the highly anticipated video that we have talked about so many times. Settle in the chair and turn up the speakers.
Dune, the next great movie saga?
So far attempts to bring Dune to the big screen have been a complete disaster. Either the project directly did not come to fruition or if it did, it did not end at all to convince the millions of fans of the great and intense story created by Frank Herbert in the 60s.
Now Dennis Villeneuve tries again, counting on an exceptional cast in which we meet many familiar faces: Timothée Chalamet (the protagonist), Rebecca Ferguson, Dave Bautista, Stellan Skarsgård, Charlotte Rampling, Oscar Isaac, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, Jason Momoa and David Dastmalchian, among others.
Considered by some to be the best science fiction novel of all time, in Dune we meet young Paul Atreides , heir to House Atreides and endowed with certain powers. His father will be ordered by the Padishah Emperor Shaddam IV to move, with his entire dukedom, to Arrakis, the only planet where the prized melange spice can be found. Paul will have to face the betrayal of the Emperor and House Harkonnen, enemies of his family.
As we pointed out to you, yesterday we saw a small teaser -on these lines- in which Dune showed off the cast and showed us the first video image of Chalamet turned into Paul Atreides. Now we can finally enjoy the complete advance and we anticipate that it will not disappoint you.

And without further delay we go with the long-awaited trailer . Three intense minutes of images and a soundtrack that is sensed at the height of the circumstances (eye, you can hear until “Eclipse” by Pink Floyd) to introduce us to what we will see in this first part of Dune – remember that Villeneuve’s idea the second one will be released next year, in 2021.
The advance could not be more complete. As you will see a little below, in it we can see practically all the protagonists of the film on several occasions, a lot of action and, of course, the famous Gom Jabbar test, which is situated in a certain way as the main thread of the beginning of the trailer. Chalamet seems to like the role of Paul Atreides quite well (we did not doubt it) and in general the scenography shows us a truly dark and harsh world, in which of course the famous sandworms, quite well recreated, are not lacking.
