The Nothing Phone (1) hit the market in 2022 boasting a unique design with a transparent back and LED lights that light up when charging the phone or receiving notifications. However, in terms of sales it has not succeeded as expected and this is due to somewhat poor hardware in relation to its price, so we expect significant improvements for this year’s Nothing Phone (2).
The main motivation of the users for the launch of the Nothing Phone (1) was that the founder of the brand is the same one that created OnePlus at the time. So the hype flooded the community waiting for a high level smartphone, but it has been halfway between glory and simplicity.

Main shortcomings of the Nothing Phone (1)
One of the main disagreements that we found in the Chinese phone and that the Nothing Phone (2) should improve is performance . The current model incorporates a Snapdragon 778G+ chip that, although it has remarkable performance, does not offer significant speed. In fact, other lower-priced phones have a more powerful processor, so we expect the next-generation device to boast a high-end CPU.
Another disappointing section has to do with autonomy. Its 4,500 mAh battery offers a duration of more than 24 hours, which is not bad, but the problem has to do with its 33W fast charge, which seems insufficient to us today. Mainly, because we find devices that reach up to 120W, that is, they charge your phone in about 15 minutes.

It is not necessary to reach this capacity either, but 65W is also enough to take us to 100% in half an hour on the Nothing Phone (2) . However, it compensates for this peculiarity with wireless and reverse charging of 15 and 5W, respectively; something unusual within the mid-range.
A priori, its screen presents ideal conditions to reproduce content optimally. This is thanks to a 120 Hz AMOLED panel, but the main lack in this regard is the screen’s maximum brightness. Its maximum peak is 1,200 nits, while the typical brightness stays at 500 nits , making it difficult to view content in certain lighting environments. So Nothing Phone (2) should improve this feature.
The sensations are good, generally
Of course, not everything is negative and the Nothing Phone (1) has laid some interesting foundations for the launch of the Nothing Phone (2). The first of these goes through a 50 MP camera with OIS that offers high-level results compared to what it costs.

Likewise, its groundbreaking design leads us to think with what the Chinese company will surprise us with its new generation. We imagine that it will follow the same aesthetic line , although they will modify the rear part so that it looks differently.
Finally, it is worth noting that the Nothing Phone (1) has 3 years of system updates , being an average policy. Furthermore, Nothing OS as a customization layer ensures smooth performance despite the absence of many features, which we expect to see on the Nothing Phone (2).
