Even the company itself has shared an early prototype on occasion, which makes it clear that the firm is working on it. The latest news about it that sounds from China, affirms that Xiaomi will launch its first folding at the beginning of 2021. Now we have new clues about its possible design.
Will this be the Xiaomi folding mobile?
Now, the LetsGoDigital medium collects the latest Xiaomi patent, in which you can see the design of a possible Xiaomi folding mobile. In the images that accompany the patent, you can see the design of a device with a futuristic design and tight frames that can be folded up to two times in the shape of a Z. When the terminal is closed, it has a large screen both on the front as in the rear. Also, the rear screen is part of a large flexible screen.
We also see how it has a camera housed in a hole in the upper part and there seems to be other types of cameras in view, something that has to do with the way of bending, since the back of the device disappears inwards during the creased. In this way, the rear camera could only be used when the terminal is fully deployed in tablet mode, which does not seem the most pleasant method to use the full power of its cameras. The front camera allows both selfies and normal photos when rotating the device, since the screen on the other side can be used as a viewfinder. 
The terminal also displays elements that are still essential in this type of device such as the control buttons on the right side, next to the speakers or the SIM card compartment. There is also a large and wide button that could act as a lock to fold or unfold the device.
2021, with more folding in sight
2021 may be an important year to start seeing more bets in the world of folding mobiles. Samsung and Huawei already have several generations on the market, while Xiaomi and other firms such as OPPO or LG have yet to present their bets.
