As the Android operating system has evolved, the options to access its functions have been increasingly simplified. This function replaces the classic lower navigation buttons with a small bar that we will have to slide to go back, go to the main menu or activate the Google assistant. It is a system that Android incorporated and which aims to make these day-to-day actions faster and that we repeat hundreds of times.
How to activate the navigation bar.
As we say, activating the navigation bar will make the on-screen navigation icons disappear. In its place we will have a small horizontally placed bar that we will have to move. To be able to start the function we will have to go to the Moto application. Then we tap on “One-button navigation” and activate the function from the switch. Now we will see the navigation bar on the screen. To remove the navigation bar and restore the navigation icons, we will have to do the steps again and deactivate the button that activates the function.
How to navigate with it?
Now we can navigate with a single finger and make gestures to carry out the classic selection functions. In this way, a central touch will act as a “home” button and will return to the main menu. When sliding to the left, it will be interpreted as the “back” or back button . However, if we swipe to the right, it will allow us to switch between the two most recent applications. Likewise, if we leave the bar pressed, we will open the Google assistant automatically, which saves time and steps if we do not have a dedicated button for its activation, like other mobiles.
Although these are the default options of the system, we can always customize the navigation gestures to our liking , which is undoubtedly one of the best ways to adapt to the new method. For this we open the Moto application and tap on Moto Actions / Navigation with a button. Then we tap on the date and swipe right or left to change the default function.
