Xiaomi is a brand that usually brings its new software updates to a good number of mobiles, even though they have been on the market for many years. However, with MIUI 12 it is taking longer than expected because the brand is releasing the different versions of the operating system (Global, EU, Chinese) in waves.
The Chinese firm is now rolling out MIUI 12 stable update on many Redmi, POCO and Mi series phones after releasing the update for the first wave of devices last July and the second in August.
In this way, today, these are the smartphones that should have already received the global version of MIUI 12 . Smartphones sold in Spain usually have either this ROM or the European one.

MIUI 12 Global Stable Version
This third wave begins this second week of October and should extend to the end of the month, the date on which all Xiaomi devices that we leave below should have the OTA update notice to MIUI 12 .

As you can see, they are the same phones that, according to the firm, should have received this version of MIUI 12 in the past month but this has not been the case. We hope that now if the word of the Chinese manufacturer is kept and mobile phones as sold in Spain as the Redmi Note 7 and Note 8 Pro will receive their new version of the operating system.
If you are using any of the phones in the list above and you don’t know if you can still update the mobile or not, go to the mobile settings to manually start the OTA update from the System and Updates, System Update menu.
MIUI 12 comes with a host of new features like an improved system-wide dark mode, AI-assisted calling features, new visual design, tweaks to system animations, and privacy fixes.
