The latest version of Xiaomi‘s software layer continues to expand among the Chinese firm’s range of mobiles. And now we know that it will reach many veteran mobiles of the brand, some of them that this version was going to reach at first. The firm has in fact confirmed new MIUI 12.5 benefactor models.
The normal thing is that the latest versions of a customization layer reach the most recent mobiles, or at least those that are within the usual two years of updates. But this time it seems that the new MIUI is going to allow the license to reach more veteran mobiles.
It has been the director of the Chinese firm, Zhang Guoquan’s, who has published on Weibo that mobile phones that have Android 11 will not be the cut for the update, but that it will be reaching many more mobile phones, even with up to three years behind his back . In fact, mobiles such as the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Mi Mix 3 or the Mi 8 range will also receive their share of stable MIUI 12.5. Which means that phones with Snapdragon 845 processors will be graced with the new version of the layer.
We are talking about mobile phones that arrived with MIU9 and 10 at their launch, so that throughout their lives they will receive up to four versions of the Xiaomi layer , something that is increasingly common in the Chinese firm, which is clear that a good Support is key to having loyal customers. In addition to these Mixes, it has confirmed that the Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 8 Explorer Edition will also receive MIUI 12.5, after having been updated to MIUI 12 last July.
What will happen to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 5G?
Without a doubt this is one of the most mysterious cases of MIUI updates among the brand’s mobiles. The phone hit the market with Android 9, and although it has updated up to MIUI 12, it has done so based on Android 9 as well. At the moment this manager of the Chinese brand has not referred to this model , and therefore it seems that at the moment it will not be one of the benefactors of having MIUI 12.5.
And if it does it of course it seems that it will not be with Android 11, but that it would do so while maintaining its already outdated operating system. Undoubtedly one of the most blushing cases of the brand, which ruins all its good work with the rest of updated devices.
