Problems with the Internet connection
Microsoft Outlook running too slow may not be entirely a problem with the program itself, but may also be caused by our own Internet connection . If we have a connection that is too slow or problems with the signal, it can result in Outlook not being able to run efficiently, thus obtaining performance problems. That is why it is convenient that we check our connection, restarting the router if necessary to try to make the connection as stable as possible and check in this way if Outlook already works correctly.
Non-essential or obsolete add-ins installed in Outlook
Another reason why Outlook is slower than usual is because we have installed non-essential or obsolete add-ons installed , so it is recommended that we uninstall them. To do this we must click on the “File” tab and make a clip on “Options”, and then on “Add-ons”, to see a list of all installed COM add-ons. Too many RSS feeds in Outlook
One of the most annoying features of Outlook is the number of RSS feeds with which it comes preconfigured and that constantly feed resources due to their permanent synchronization, which can cause our download manager to go slower than desired . Therefore, unless necessary, it is convenient to remove RSS feeds from Outlook. For this we go to “Files” and click on “Account Management” and then on RSS to empty all the content that we do not need.
Large OST and PST files
One of the most common reasons for poor Outlook performance is large OST and PST files . If this is the case, we may notice how typical operations such as reading, moving or deleting email messages are performed more slowly. And it is that after being using this mail server for a while it is normal that we have accumulated a lot of information in a single PST file, exceeding the maximum capacity of the server, so our mail will begin to fail and with this we will obtain a slower operation . From 10 GB in size of a PST file, we may start to notice short pauses, especially during email downloads.
