In fact now we are going to talk about a functionality that Microsoft has decided to deactivate right off the bat.
Specifically, this that we are commenting on has happened in the 2004 version of Windows 10, that is, in the most recent system update, the May 2020 Update . Say that at this time, little by little the new version continues to be implemented in compatible equipment gradually, in stages. This is something that Microsoft itself usually does every time it releases an operating system feature update. In this way, what is tried is to avoid that the equipment that is not yet compatible, receive it, and thus there are no compatibility problems.
The Wireless Display function is not active in Windows
Well, as we mentioned, the Wireless Display function that until now we could use without problems in Windows, is no longer available. That is something that has just been implemented in the aforementioned 2004 version of Windows. Therefore, now when we go to Configuration / System / Projection on this computer, we will see that by default we cannot use it.
Therefore, it follows that this wireless projection method is no longer available in the 2004 version of Windows 10. The reason for this is that Microsoft has decided that it is no longer available by default in the operating system. Of course, the good news is that this is a functionality that we can be activated by ourselves independently. Thus, it has suddenly become an optional application in the Redmond software.
As explained by the company itself, this application for wireless projection is no longer installed by default. It is now available as an optional feature for Windows users who will be able to activate it on their own.
How to re-enable Wireless Display in Windows
Therefore, to be able to use this function to which we refer you again, we must first activate it in the system. To do this, we open the Configuration application again through the Win + E key combination. After that, we go to the Applications section and click on Optional Features. Then we will only have to click on the button that is represented by a + sign to add a function and then install the Wireless Screen application.
Of course, we must bear in mind that all this that we are commenting on is being done for computers that already have the 2004 version of the operating system. This corresponds to the most recent update sent by Redmond a few months ago. At the same time, many are currently awaiting the arrival of the 20H2 update which is expected to begin rolling out this fall.
