Metal Slug: Awakening, Video Gameplay for iOS and Android

Almost a year ago, TiMi Studios unveiled the development of Metal Slug Code: J , the modern version of the arcade classic that would come to iOS and Android in the future. Well, its launch is getting closer and closer, and to celebrate it they have published a video with the first gameplay of the game with which to see it in action.

As you can see below, this new Metal Slug Code: J looks really good. With completely updated graphics, the game mechanics apparently continue to be respected, although new actions have been included that will give much more dynamism to the games. Changes in gravity and new actions will keep the fun aesthetic of always with high content in action, but perhaps focusing the gameplay towards the young audience, and not towards the veterans who enjoyed the original in the arcades.

This new installment has the full SNK license, so we are talking about an absolutely official game. And it is that TiMi Studio is known for bringing many franchises to the mobile world, especially as it happened with Call of Dury, since with Call of Duty: Mobile have managed to exploit the mobile branch for the first time for the Activision franchise, achieving spectacular results that only grow month by month.

Although TiMi Studio has not confirmed the official name of this new installment, the famous analyst Daniel Ahmad has assured that the game will receive the name of Metal Slug: Awakening. In addition, it seems that a private beta will be available in China from June, so we can guess that its launch will go to at least July or August, if not September.

When can it be downloaded?

Unfortunately TiMi Studio is still very reserved in this regard, and for now has preferred not to give details about the release date of the game to the Google and Apple platforms. Therefore, we will have to continue waiting for the developers to confirm the game’s publication day and, in the meantime, we will have no choice but to continue enjoying Metal Slug through emulators and versions of classic compilations.

How many Metal Slug are there?

Like any successful saga, Metal Slug has received many versions since it first saw the light in 1996 on Neo-Geo systems. It was followed by new installments such as Metal Slug 2: Super Vehicle-001, Metal Slug X and Metal Slug 3; reaching up to Metal Slug 7 as a correlative title.

Over the years, somewhat more modern versions appeared prepared for the consoles of that time (also portable), until reaching RPG versions and anthological compilations with which to bring the first versions of the game to the most modern platforms. With no release approaching the boom that sparked the first three installments, Metal Slug: Awakening is now here to deliver the first great mobile experience for the first time. Will they get to be the new bombshell?
