All this, its visuals and special effects made it quickly become a very popular trilogy. After all, raising that old philosophical idea about whether the world around us is real or fictional has always caught the attention of many.

Matrix 4, the return of Lana Wachoski

Although in the three previous films both Lana and Lilly Wachoski were involved with the project, in this fourth installment of the saga there will only be Lana . This was confirmed by her sister Lilly, who is busy working on the next series ‘Work in Progress’.

We couldn’t be more excited to re-enter the Matrix with Lana, a true visionary, a singular and original creative filmmaker, and we are delighted that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in the Matrix universe.

So, with Lana at the helm, the eldest of the Wachoskis will have the help of Aleksander Hemon and David Mitchell to write the script. She will also be responsible for that script as well as directing and producing the fourth installment with the support of Warner Bros. studios.
