Macadam is a rewards app that can turn recorded walking activity into virtual coins. Those coins are not automatically cash in your bank account. You must meet the app’s current reward conditions and have an eligible payout offer available for your account.

What happens between a walk and a payout?
| Stage | What to check |
|---|---|
| Steps are recorded | The phone’s activity data and Macadam’s permissions. |
| Steps are validated | The app’s daily deadline and available milestones. |
| Coins appear | The actual credited balance, separate from step totals. |
| A reward is requested | Availability, account status, required coins and verification. |
The official Macadam introduction describes walking rewards and additional activities such as challenges, games, surveys and advertisements. These activities have different conditions; a promotional total is not a guaranteed return from walking alone.
Remember the daily validation step
Macadam’s step-validation guidance says to validate steps before midnight. Milestones can change with activity and account conditions. Check the live app instead of relying on an old screenshot or a fixed coins-per-step calculation.
If steps are missing, compare the phone’s activity record with the app, check the permissions it requests and confirm that the right account is open. A smartwatch total is not proof that the app received the same data. Do not install a step-spoofing tool or buy an unofficial account to force a reward.
Read the payout offer before spending time
The cashout instructions say offers depend on location and crown status. At this review, the help page describes bank transfers for Europe and the UK, with PayPal cashouts outside that region; it says PayPal is unavailable for EEA and UK users. Bank-transfer requests can require bank details and identity verification. Confirm the current requirements inside your account.
Do not treat an old claim such as a particular coin balance always equaling a fixed cash amount as a universal rule. Check the offer’s conversion, timing and conditions. The help page allows up to 15 working days for processing, so a submitted request is not the same as money already received.
Decide whether it suits you
Try the basic walking feature first and compare the reward with the time, advertisements and information required. We have not independently tested a payout for your account and cannot promise an earning rate. For messages claiming to unlock a payment, apply our safe-browsing checks and use the app’s own support route rather than a stranger’s payment link.
Frequently asked questions
Does every recorded step become money?
No. Step recording, daily validation, coin credit and an eligible cashout are separate stages.
Can German users assume PayPal is available?
No. The reviewed help page says PayPal is unavailable for EEA and UK users. Check the offer in your own account.
Is there one permanent coin-to-cash rate?
Do not assume so. Available offers and conversion conditions can depend on location and account status.
Does this article confirm that I will receive a payout?
No. It explains the published rules; we have not tested or verified a payout for your account.
