Leaked new Microsoft Surface Laptop, and it's a gaming laptop!

If 15 years ago we had been told that Microsoft was going to have its own range of computers, then many of us would have laughed. Today, the Redmond company has its own range of PCs and with undoubted prestige, however, there was a sector that they had forgotten and it seemed that their only hardware to play with was the Xbox. Well, finally we will see the first Surface gaming laptop . What will it carry inside? Let’s see.

Leaked new Microsoft Surface Laptop

Microsoft is very strong when it comes to video games, not only because of the success of its excellent next-generation consoles and the impact that Game Pass has had on the market. If not also because of the fact that being a developer of the DirectX API, she has direct contact with the developers, which gives them an advantage that allows them to be in the front line. Let’s not forget that all technology first appears on PC always. However, we were missing a gaming Surface laptop with the excellent industrial design that characterizes them.

This is the first Surface laptop for gaming

Yes, Microsoft is going to join in making gaming laptops and we know all this because of a leak of the specifications that has occurred in the last few hours. We do not know if it is intentional on the part of those from Redmond to create noise in favor of their new Surface laptop for gaming or it is simply the classic leak from the factory. In any case, the image filtered by theprimegaming indicates that it is part of a clipping from the product’s website.

As you can see, the general specifications of the product, and that interest us for gaming, are the following:

  • Intel Core i5-12500H or i7-12700H processor depending on option.
  • 16 or 32 GB depending on the model we choose, both are of the LPDDR4X type, so it will be soldered to the board and cannot be expanded.
  • As a graphics card we will have an NVIDIA RTX 3050 Ti or an RTX 3070 Ti , both in their laptop models. The first with 4 GB of VRAM memory and the second with 8 GB.
  • As for storage, this will be NVMe SSD with configurations of 256 GB, 512 GB, 1 TB or 2 TB . The good news is that it is not memory soldered on board and can be changed. Although we do not know if we can expand it with another module.
  • The screen of both models is the same, a Quad HD of 2560 x 1440 pixels of the PixelSense type with a refresh rate of 165 Hz.

Apparently and paying attention we have that Microsoft will launch two different models , we know this because the specifications speak of two different weights, one for the model with i5 and the other for the model with i7.

Launch and starting price

Well, at the moment we do not know both information , since it has not been officially presented and we could see it on the market in the coming months. In any case, despite what the sources say, we do not believe that we will see it being shown at CES, due to the fact that it is expected that at that time we will see laptops with Intel Core 13 and RTX 40. That is, they would see this Surface gaming laptop as somewhat outdated in terms of specifications.
