Tweetbot 6 was launched yesterday on the iOS and iPadOS App Store. This is the new version of the most popular unofficial Twitter client in the world and which, again, is also available in Spanish. It is noteworthy that it has lost some popularity in recent years at the expense of improvements to the official app, the truth is that it is still a very interesting option. Below we address all the news in this version, since not everything is good news.
Tweetbot is now subscription
Lately there are many developers who see more business offering their applications with recurring payments before the single payment per download. In fact, some of them have come to change their payment method in the same app, going from that second mode to subscription. In the case of Tweetbot, we find that they have taken this path in this sixth version of the application, which now requires a monthly or annual subscription. We remember that Tweetbot was previously a one-time payment app at the time it was downloaded. These are the current prices for this subscription:

- Annual subscription: 6.49 euros
It should be noted that there is currently a launch promotion for which these prices are already discounted. You can also count on a 7-day trial . In any case, it is expected that the annual version, although it requires immediate payment of the entire amount, will be cheaper than the monthly version. Although it is true that for many it may be a bad decision on the part of the developers, we must recognize that it is not a high subscription either or that it cannot be assumed by a majority of the users who until now had the service.
Small changes to the interface
The main change of Tweetbot in this version is the one mentioned above, since neither really new features are seen or that represent an abrupt change compared to previous versions. There are slight visual changes, such as the fact that the button to write tweets is now at the top. Although luckily you can continue to have the main assets that they already had, such as the fact of not having organic advertising or of any kind or being able to have a classic timeline view, making this one hundred percent real by viewing them in chronological order the tweets of those users you follow. Also the greatest customization of the app is present in this Tweetbot 6.
As we said at the beginning, many of the features that Twitter users previously longed for and found in Tweetbot are already in both applications, so it is making less and less sense to use clients like this one. In any case, the developers have not wanted to put aside that loyal audience that still accompanies them and therefore they have continued to launch new versions like these.
