Last Friday Microsoft finally confirmed the launch of its next major Windows 10 update, 20H2, now officially known as ” October 2020 Update “. This new version is now available to all Insider users within the beta channel, so anyone interested in it can try it, both on their PC and in a virtual machine. This new Windows update is expected to arrive in two to three weeks to all in a stable way. And even more so now that Microsoft has just released a new and important patch for this version: KB4571756.
This new patch has begun to reach all users who have already updated to Windows 10 October 2020 Update from the Insider channel . The main purpose of this patch is to correct all the bugs and errors that have been detected in this new version of Windows 10.
The update KB4571756 solves neither more nor less than 50 bugs and errors detected in this new version of Windows 10. After installing it, the operating system will be placed in build 19042.541, and, after restarting, we will be able to start enjoying all the improvements introduced , which are not few.
Main bugs fixed in 20H2 with KB4571756
As we have already said, this update has fixed a total of 50 bugs and problems detected in the new version of the operating system. Many of these bugs were minor and only affected a small group of users under very specific conditions. Especially in development and business environments. However, some of the bugs fixed were major bugs that prevented the use of operating system features such as WSL.
Probably, the most important error of all those fixed is one that made users see an ” Item not found ” message when trying to use a Linux from the Windows 10 Subsystem. Starting with the new build 19042.541, this error will disappear from the system, and everything should work normally again.
Another change in this update is a notification in Internet Explorer 11 that will remind users of the end of Flash support. And some issues have also been addressed such as:
- A bug that prevents playing games with spatial sound.
- Random line breaks when using PowerShell.
- Problems with crypto content.
- Fixed an access violation error to the lsass.exe process.

Windows 10 October 2020 Update ready for release
With this large number of bugs fixed, we can finally say that this new version of the operating system is ready for release. It is possible that there are still errors in the new update, both their own and inherited from the current 2004 version, errors that will gradually be reported by Insider users and that will be fixed within the beta branch of the development channel.
If all goes well, the new Windows 10 update will arrive in mid-October to all users. And the safest thing is that it does it with all these corrections already included so that it can work in the best possible way from the first moment. All later fixed bugs and bugs will arrive as a cumulative patch with the release of 20H2.
