The Magic Mouse and Magic Trackpad are two peripherals designed by Apple to complement your iMac or Mac desktop. Both have the same functions but with a very different shape and design. The objective of both devices is the same: to be able to be managed by the macOS or iPadOS interface. If we talk about the Magic Mouse, it should be noted in a positive way that it adapts perfectly to the operating system of the Cupertino company. This makes it one of the first options to consider if you are going to look at a mouse for your Mac. Another great advantage is that it has a multi-touch surface that retains the shape of a normal mouse but with Apple aesthetics.
A disadvantage of this peripheral is its shape. Despite being a mouse to use, it does not have a very ergonomic shape, so if you use it for many hours a day, it may be somewhat uncomfortable for you. Another negative point can be seen in the charging port. It is located at the bottom, which means that you cannot use it while charging.
Turning to Magic Trackpad, this peripheral is a small touch panel, as if it were the MacBook. but bigger. Among its advantages is the large amount of tactile part it has. It is very easy to use and very comfortable thanks to the Force Touch support. The click is very simple and you can adjust it to your liking. Among the disadvantages of this device, the one that stands out the most is the touch print. A lot of marks remain after use, and if you like to have everything as if it were new, with this peripheral you will not be able to achieve it.
One of the big differences between both accessories is their price. The Magic Mouse 2 is available for 99 euros , a price that is the same for both its space gray and silver versions. We find identical colors for the Magic Trackpad 2, although in this case the price rises to 149 euros , marking a difference of 50 euros with the other accessory that will probably end up being a decisive factor in the purchase as well.
Having analyzed these two devices, if you have to choose one, perhaps the Magic Mouse is better. It is more comfortable for simple and short movements, that is, the movements that you make for the simplest tasks that you can do with the computer. On the other hand, if you are going to do big gestures and edit photos or videos, Magic Trackpad can be a good option for you.
