iPhone 12 Battery Problem: Drains Fast in Standby Mode

Since the launch of the new iPhone 12, there are several problems and inconveniences they have faced. Remember that yesterday we told you that some users have problems connecting to 4G and 5G networks, while previously we also saw a failure with notifications that do not appear anywhere. We have even seen several reports of iPhone 12 with the problem of the “green screen”.

When a terminal goes on the market, it is logical that the manufacturer must make various adjustments in the form of updates, to polish aspects of operation that were left in the inkwell. No beta phase, no matter how complete, can be compared to the use that millions of people make of the device, where the failures of the day to day can really arise.

Drain in standby mode

The problems now are derived from the battery life, as reported by several users in the Apple community, which have been collected by 9to5Mac. As detailed, there are at least 1,000 user reports that indicate that the battery of your iPhone 12 suddenly drops between 20% and 40% when the terminal is at rest, something that is especially appreciated in the morning, after having left the terminal without turning off at night, but in said sleep mode. Disabling 5G connectivity or closing background apps does not seem to work in this case.

The problem seems to affect the entire series, but it may be more relevant in the iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 Mini, given their lower battery capacity, even than the iPhone 11 series. One of the affected users, Master26A, explains in the forums of The Apple Community, reports a depletion of 4% per hour in standby mode, having the terminal in their hands since the end of October. This data is much higher than the previous iPhone 11 Pro, according to the affected person.

A software problem?

Affected users who have reviewed the battery consumption of the applications, have not found any specific culprit , simply that the battery drains quickly for no apparent reason. According to the graphs provided by a technician outside of Apple, it is evident that the battery drainage occurs almost the same with the terminal on as it should be at rest.

In this sense, we could suspect that we are facing a software problem , whose solution could be in one of the next Apple updates. If not, one can speculate on the possibility of some faulty batteries or some other kind of hardware problem.
